Last November 10th  was held at Cavas Gramona, Sant Sadurní, a Technical Seminar jointly organized by the Cluster of wine ( INNOVI ) and energy (CEEC ) , in order to present to a large professional audience , responsible both of wineries as energy suppliers , a number of proposals aimed at producing sustainable energy and reduce CO2 emissions.

To this Technical Seminar were presented mainly three different modalities of production for self-consumption: solar (with examples at Gramona, Caves Carles Andreu and Codorniu), the geothermal (Gramona) and biomass coming from the vineyard (Caves Vilarnau) .This last modality was introduced by the coordinator of “vineyards for heat” Jordi Cuyàs which focused on CO2 reduction and the the need to encourage self-consumption and close the circle of the vineyard, with the reduced dependence of large fossil or nuclear energy companies, and Eva Plazas, winemaker of Caves Vilarnau, who explained her positive experience within this project included in the LIFE Programme. In addition to the explained experiences  the importance of the implementation of a monitoring was pointed out  as a first step to a correct energy management, the Institut Català de la Energia exposed the situation in Catalonia and solar and geothermal installations of Gramona wineries were able to visit.
